First Response Health & Safety invites you to join our team as an Occupational Health Technician (OHT) at our Construction Site Clinic. This role presents a distinctive opportunity for EMTs and Paramedics to thrive in a non-traditional environment off the ambulance and contribute to the rapidly expanding field of occupational health.
As an OHT, you will serve as an essential member of our team. Your primary responsibilities will include administering first-aid care, conducting drug & alcohol screenings, and undertaking various tasks aimed at enhancing the overall health and well-being of all workers on site. You will work closely with the construction site safety managers and site management to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all personnel at the site. Your dedication and expertise will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of wellness and safety within our construction work-site community.
Qualifications:
- Current EMT, Paramedic or MA certification
- Current/Active CPR/BLS Certification
- Possess excellent verbal / written communication skills
- Have a positive and outgoing personality
- You are comfortable working in a construction environment
- You are competent in using apps and software programs daily
*Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on construction sites
- Experience with the workers’ compensation claim process
- Instructor certification for First Aid, CPR, and AED training
- An active OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 card
Responsibilities:
- Full-time 40hrs a week availability - The hours available for scheduling are Monday - Saturday, 10 to 12 hour shifts, Days/Nights/Weekends.
- The position's responsibilities include collaborative work with the medical and operational leadership at First Response, local medical providers, client staff, with key contacts within the client's corporate structure
- Participate in daily operations at the First Response on-site clinic
- Provide superior customer service to all site staff, clients, and sub-contractors working at the site
- Assessment and treatment of workplace injuries and illnesses according to the First Response Occupational First Aid Protocols
- Build and maintain internal team relationships
- Support for onsite employee health and wellness efforts
- Pre-employment and post-offer screenings
- Documentation of care using patient care reporting software (PCR) and other tools
- The day-to-day role of our OHTs includes Drug & alcohol screenings, First Aid injury response, Injury follow-ups, case management, and wellness screenings for workers.
